New Bipartisan Legislation Would Make It Easier for Cancer Patients to Participate in Clinical Trials 

Federal legislation that would make it easier for all cancer patients to participate in clinical trials was introduced today in the House. Sponsored by Reps. Raul Ruiz (D-Calif.) and Larry Bucshon (R-Ind.), the Clinical Trial Modernization Act is bipartisan legislation that would increase access to clinical trials by helping remove cost and geographic barriers to patient participation.

White House Again Misses Deadline to Finalize FDA Rules Prohibiting Menthol Cigarettes and all Flavors in Cigars; Refuses to Address Public Health Disparities

Today, the White House again failed to meet their own deadline to finalize the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) proposed rules to end the sale of menthol cigarettes and eliminate all flavors in cigars despite an overwhelming amount of evidence demonstrating menthol flavoring is a serious public health risk.
